The following message was sent to parents and family members of the Class of 2020 via email.
Dear Lafayette Families:
On behalf of the trustees, faculty, and staff of Lafayette College, we look forward to welcoming you to campus in May to celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing students at a Commencement celebration for the Class of 2020. This is sure to be a special weekend for our graduates and their families and we are excited to celebrate this milestone together. Please note that all 2020 graduates received an email with a link to register for this event. Registration is strongly encouraged to allow for proper planning for the weekend. Below is the anticipated schedule of activities:
Friday, May 20, 2022
1:30 – 3:30 p.m. – Graduation Ceremony for ’22 Posse Scholars
Location: Wilson Room, Pfenning Alumni Center
Sunday, May 22, 2022
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Lunch
Location: Marquis Dining Hall
Graduates are welcome to three complimentary meal tickets. Graduates do require a ticket. Lunch tickets will be available for pick up the day of Commencement at the Guest Services tent on the Quad from 9am to Noon. 2:00 p.m. – Commencement Recognition
Location: The Quad
(No tickets required if the ceremony is held outdoors.)
In case of rain, this event will be held in the arena of the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center. Because of the limited seating capacity in the venue, “rain site” tickets will be required for family members and other guests only if the ceremony is moved indoors. Rain site tickets will be available for pick up on Sunday, May 22 at the Guest Services tent on the Quad. Each graduate will be entitled to three rain site tickets. Graduates do require a ticket. Admission to the Kirby Sports Center Arena by ticket will begin at 1 p.m.
Please note: Rain or shine, real-time video of the ceremony will be streamed into Limburg Theater, located in the lower level of the Farinon College Center – no tickets are required for theater seating. Additionally, the event will be livestreamed to the College’s website.
3:30 p.m. – President’s Reception for Graduates and their guests
Location: The Garden of the President’s House, 515 College Avenue
(In case of rain, the reception will be held in Kamine Gymnasium, Allan P. Kirby Sports Center.)
If there is a change in the location of the Commencement celebration or the President’s Reception due to inclement weather, that information will be available in a recorded message on the Lafayette Weather Information Hotline (610) 330-5809 as soon as it is known. This information will also be posted on the Lafayette College homepage and on social media.
